Engagement ring loose sometimes, tight others?

It is pretty much just the problem with human anatomy. Your fingers swell when you sleep because they are often under you, your face, or above your head and they swell when you are hot. As long as it doesn't fall off, I would leave it as is. It is normal to have some wiggle room - mine often spin when I am not sleeping or hot.
