Why do people put hierarchy on sins... ?

Many try to place man's value on sin and deny God's definition. One who answered is correct all sin is equal in God standard. The biblical deff. is sin is a separation from God. Small, big and in between. In some denominations they use to use the value system in order to have the ppl pay more $$ for some things unless you were poor to begin with.
